HOW TO
Start with a warm, steamy room. While you soak, let the Exfoliating Body Glove soften in the warm water too.
When skin is warm and you’re relaxed, smooth on Pre-Exfoliating Foam. Allow it to soak in for 15 seconds before rinsing.
Wring out the Exfoliating Body Glove and begin exfoliating in long strokes up and down using the palm of your hand. Rinse your body thoroughly.
Next lather Body Wash all over, rinsing as you go.
When you’re ready, step out and pat your skin dry. Immediately apply Dry Body Oil to warm skin.
How often should I exfoliate?
Everyone’s skin is unique and can require different care depending on the season and conditions, but typically 1-2 times per week keeps skin soft and radiant while allowing ample time for skin to maintain its natural balance.How often can I do The Bathhouse Ritual
The four steps of The Bathhouse Ritual are: preparing skin for exfoliation, exfoliating, purifying & hydrating, and nourishing. The complete ritual with exfoliation can be done 1-2 times per week, but our body wash and dry body oil are designed to keep skin nourished and radiant between exfoliation sessions, so you are free to use them as often as daily. We are firm believers in the power of a daily hot soak.Can I shave before doing the ritual?
We recommend shaving immediately after the ritual or the next day. Shaving is its own form of exfoliation and we find the best results come from allowing the Pre-Exfoliating Foam & Exfoliating Body Glove to do the job first.Should I wash my skin before I start the ritual?
No need! Start with your skin as is and let our ritual transform and cleanse. We recommend avoiding skin moisturizers and body washes within 24 hours of beginning the Body Cleansing Ritual as they may interfere with the process.Which Exfoliating Body Glove is right for my skin?
Anyone with sensitive skin or trying the ritual for the first time should use the gentle (Beige colored) Exfoliating Body Glove to see how skin responds to it. For those familiar with the ritual and seeking deeper exfoliation, the black Exfoliating Body Glove is designed for thorough removal of dead skin cells and therefore a more powerful exfoliation result. The two fabric strengths can also be alternated throughout the week — beginning with deep exfoliation and followed by gentle exfoliation a few days later. Both gloves are certified Microbiome Friendly — the first exfoliating gloves with this designation — for their ability to keep skin’s natural balance intact while exfoliating.Can I do the Body Cleansing Ritual in the shower?
Yes! The most important environmental component of the ritual is warmth and steam, which help to open pores and foster relaxation. So fill the room with as much steam as possible before getting in and make sure skin stays warm and wet while performing the ritual and especially throughout the exfoliation process. Our shower tips are: Fill the room with steam — as warm and wet as you can manage. Make sure to soften the Exfoliating Body Glove under the hot water before beginning the ritual. Allow time for skin to warm and soften under the hot water and in the steam. Apply Pre-Exfoliating Foam allowing a few seconds for it to soak in before rinsing off. When exfoliating, move out from under the shower’s stream.
